Teriyaki shrimp, fresh veggies and lo mein noodles are combined in this easy one pot recipe, made in under 30 minutes, perfect for weeknight dinners!
I don’t know about y’all, but I love a good one pot meal! Easy cooking, easy clean-up, now that’s my kind of meal!
Today’s one pot mealtakes teriyaki shrimp and broccoli, and combines it with delicious lo mein noodles for an Asian style one pot pasta that you’re going to love!
Teriyaki Shrimp Lo Mein Ingredients
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 cup red bell pepper (sliced)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 serrano chili (thinly sliced) – optional – omit if you don’t like spicy!
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce (click link for homemade recipe)
- 10 oz lo mein noodles
- 2 ½ cups chicken broth
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 lb shrimp (peeled & deveined – tails on or off – your choice!)
- 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
Teriyaki Shrimp Lo Mein Instructions
Pour the sesame oil in a large skillet or dutch oven over medium high heat. Add the bell pepper, saute 3-4 minutes, add the garlic and serrano chili, saute for an additional minute.
Pour the teriyaki sauce in the skillet and stir to combine.
Break the lo mein noodles in half, then add to the pot. Pour the chicken broth over the noodles.
Mix everything together and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover and cook for 10 minutes.
Remove the lid and add the shrimp and broccoli.
Place the lid back on the pot and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until shrimp begin to turn pink.
Remove from the heat, toss everything together, then top with the sliced green onions and serve.

When you could have sworn you had shrimp in the freezer… Lol. I tried this without shrimp and it came out delicious! As with most recipes I find there will always be ingredients that I don’t have but I don’t sweat the small stuff. Substituted EVOO for sesame oil. I didn’t have green onion on hand so I sauteed white onion with the garlic. I also didn’t have Serrano chilies but i did have dried chipotle pepper. I used just enough for a kick! I also used Japanese soba noodles instead of lo mein noodles but you wouldn’t notice unless you’re a noodle connoisseur which I am not. What would I do differently? Besides make sure I have shrimp in the freezer? I would try the homemade teriyaki sauce recipe. The store bought ones have too much sugar. Nonetheless this might be a new go to!

Hi Krystal, I’m so glad you enjoyed the recipe and made it your own with what you had in the kitchen! And to be completely honest, I’ve started making a recipe thinking I had shrimp in the freezer and low and behold did not, so you’re not alone, haha!!
